Jaroslav Rudiš: Winterberg on Národní Street

Rudiš is a writer of novels, theatre and radio plays, a screenwriter, journalist and co-author of the comics saga about Alois Nebel (2003–2008), which succeeded in theatre and film. Born in Turnov in 1972, he studied German, history and journalism in Liberec, Prague, Zürich and Berlin. He has worked as a teacher, advertising agent, hotel porter, and journalist. He has received several awards (Jiří Orten Prize, 2002; Usedomer Literaturpreis, 2014; Preis der Literaturhäuser, 2018). He lives in CZ and Germany. Since 2002 he has published more than ten books, recently Národní třída (National Street, 2013), Český ráj (Czech Paradise, 2018) and Winterbergs letzte Reise (2019). He also plays music (Kafka Band) and literary cabaret.
